For more than fifteen years, musikprotokoll has been following the career of British composer Rebecca Saunders. Music for the grand ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra has featured alongside music for the little ensemble recherche – and as early as 1995, the Arditti Quartet opened musikprotokoll with the première of a string quartet by Saunders. Another première kicks off this year’s Arditti Quartet cycle, which then widens to embrace a small cross-generation jigsaw of British and Austrian compositions.
